Why two things instead of everything
CompareGreen covers what goes on your roof and what stores what it makes. Not boilers, not windows, not heat pumps. Two technologies that share a survey, a scaffold and a certification body — and one of which is treated as an afterthought nearly everywhere else.
The battery is an afterthought everywhere else
On every large comparison site, battery storage is a sub-page underneath solar. The questions are solar questions, and the battery gets mentioned somewhere near the end. It is a separate MCS scope and it deserves separate questions.
They are two jobs, with two standards
Panels are about your roof, its aspect and the access. A battery is about your consumer unit, your existing inverter and your meter. Each has its own MCS certification, and from October 2026 the battery has its own chapter in the UK wiring regulations.
Around two million UK homes have solar and no battery
The UK passed two million solar installations in March 2026. Most of those households have no storage. They already understand the product and do not need a beginner’s guide to renewables — they need three sensible quotes.

We are an introduction service
You tell us about your property, we pass your details to the three most suitable MCS-certified installers — certified for your job and covering your postcode — so you can compare three prices. That is the whole product.
We are not an installer
We do not survey, fit, wire or commission anything. We have no engineers and no vans. Your contract is with the installer you choose, not with us.
We are paid by installers
They pay a fee when we pass on an enquiry. You are never charged, and the fee does not change what you are quoted.
We do not sell your data
Your details go to the installers we match you with and nobody else. Not to brokers, not to energy suppliers, not to anyone who bought a list.

We support the UK target of net zero by 2050
Getting there means a lot of ordinary houses storing electricity instead of drawing all of it at peak. We are a small commercial part of that, and we would rather the households doing it got competent installers.
What we can be judged on now
The certification we check before an installer receives an enquiry, the fact that we tell you how we are paid before you fill anything in, and that we confirm your number so nobody rings you by accident.
